3-Tier Language Detection

Each message goes through a fast, layered detection pipeline. Most messages are classified in under 1 millisecond without any API call.

Tier 1

Unicode Script Detection

Regex matches on Unicode script blocks. If a message contains Telugu, Tamil, Devanagari, or other native script characters, the language is identified instantly -- no API call needed.

Transliterated Word Sets

For romanized input (like "mujhe booking chahiye"), a curated word set for each language identifies common words. Covers Hinglish, Tenglish, Tanglish, and other code-mixed variants.

Gemini AI Fallback

For ambiguous messages that neither script detection nor word sets can classify, Gemini identifies the language. This handles edge cases and uncommon phrasings.
