An AI receptionist for a pest control business in India costs from ₹2 per minute of talk time with Dvaarik — billed in whole minutes from prepaid credits, with no monthly subscription, no minimum volume and no lock-in. If we supply the phone number, add ₹2,000 per 30 days. The one-time ₹40,000 build is currently free for our first 10 founding clients, in return for keeping the Care Plan at the ₹5,000/mo founding rate for the first three months and giving us an honest testimonial plus a short case study after go-live. A two-technician operator handling roughly 460 billed minutes of calls a month, on a number from us, therefore spends about ₹2,920 a month once that founding Care Plan period ends. Every step of that arithmetic is below, including the months where it is a lot more than ₹2,920. Everything on this page is priced in rupees. Our own figures come off our published price list, checked 26 Jul 2026. Every competitor figure was read on that vendor's own page on 21 Jul 2026 and is recorded in our internal price ledger with the sentence and URL it came from. Where a number is our arithmetic rather than a vendor's published claim, the page says so in the same sentence. The mechanism that makes this trade different is not subtle. A technician is inside a customer's flat, in gloves and a mask, holding a sprayer, standing on a stool behind a fridge. He physically cannot take the next call. Neither, often, can the owner — in a small operation he is on a job himself. Enquiries arrive during working hours, which is exactly when the people qualified to answer them have their hands full of equipment. That is not a discipline problem or a staffing problem. It is the shape of the work. One boundary stated plainly up front, because it governs everything else on this page: the agent books, reminds, follows up and routes. It never answers a chemical, dosage or health-safety question. If a customer asks whether the spray is safe for a six-month-old, an asthmatic, a pregnant woman, a cat or an aquarium, the agent stops and gets a human on the line. There is a full section on that below, and it is not configurable.
What does an AI receptionist for a pest control business cost in India?
Every rupee that can leave your account, in one table. These are our own published figures, taken from the live pricing source of this site, checked 26 Jul 2026.
| Line item | Amount | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Voice calls | from ₹2 per minute | Bharat Standard covers the 22 scheduled Indian languages and English at ₹2/min — our permanent base rate, not a founding discount. Studio HD is ₹3/min; Global voices for non-Indian languages are ₹4–5/min |
| Billing granularity | Whole minutes | A 40-second call bills 1 minute; a 2 min 20 s call bills 3 minutes |
| Chat conversations | ₹2 per conversation | A 24-hour window on website chat, WhatsApp or Instagram — not per message |
| Phone number + 1 concurrent line | ₹2,000 per 30 days | Only if we supply the number. Auto-debited from credits |
| Extra concurrent line | ₹1,500 per 30 days | Only if two calls must be answered at the same moment |
| Extra phone number | ₹750 per 30 days | A second city line, for example |
| Call recording | +₹0.10 per minute | Optional, only if you switch it on |
| One-time build (setup) | ₹40,000 list | Free for our 10 founding clients |
| Care Plan | ₹12,000/mo list · ₹5,000/mo founding, locked 6 months | Required for the first 3 months of a founding build, optional from month 4 |
| Minimum first credit load | ₹10,000 | One time, to start |
| Later top-ups | From ₹500 | Whenever you choose |
| WhatsApp message fees | Billed by Meta to your own account | Dvaarik adds zero markup |
What is not on that list
- No monthly platform or SaaS subscription. The one recurring commitment is the Care Plan in the table above — required for the first 3 months of a founding build, optional from month 4.
- No per-seat, per-technician or per-branch fee.
- No minimum monthly minutes and no annual contract on usage. Credits never expire.
- No separate licence fee per agent type — the receptionist, outbound, booking, WhatsApp and payments agents all draw on the same credit balance.
GST, stated rather than buried
All of the prices above are exclusive of GST. 18% GST applies at the point of loading credits, so a ₹10,000 credit load is billed ₹11,800 — ₹10,000 usable plus ₹1,800 GST. If you are GST-registered, that is input credit rather than a cost. We would still rather you saw the number on the invoice here than discovered it at checkout.
The honest month-1 arithmetic
The founding offer has a real floor, and it is higher than the ₹2/min headline suggests. If you take the free build as a founding client, your first ₹10,000 credit load is consumed roughly like this:
| Month-1 debit | Amount |
|---|---|
| Phone number, 30 days | ₹2,000 |
| Care Plan, founding rate | ₹5,000 |
| Remaining for actual talk time | ≈₹3,000 |
₹3,000 buys 1,500 billed minutes at ₹2/min. Whether that covers your month depends on your own call volume — the worked examples further down use 460 and 2,750 billed minutes. Be clear about the cash either way: your real month-one outlay is ₹11,800 including GST, not ₹920 of call time. From month 4, when the Care Plan becomes optional, an operator running 460 billed minutes pays ₹920 of talk time plus ₹2,000 for the number — ₹2,920 a month. Full terms on the pricing page.
Why the phone goes unanswered in this trade specifically
Described as a mechanism, not as a statistic. We have no verified India-specific figure for how many pest control enquiries go unanswered, and we are not going to borrow an unsourced one from a vendor page.
What we can describe is the structure of the working day, which anyone who runs this business will recognise.
The technician cannot answer. He is inside a customer's kitchen with a sprayer, in PPE, often on a ladder or behind an appliance. Answering means putting equipment down, removing gloves, and stepping outside — during a treatment he has already been paid for. The rational choice is to let it ring.
The owner is often also a technician. In a two-to-six person operation the person who quotes jobs is the person doing them. Enquiries land during exactly the hours he is unreachable.
Enquiries are urgent and comparison-shopped. Someone who has just found bed bugs in a mattress or a rat in a false ceiling is unlikely to wait until evening for a callback. They are calling the next numbers on the search results page while your phone is still ringing.
The volume is bursty. This trade does not receive a smooth daily flow of calls. A humid week, one apartment complex with a cockroach problem, or one directory listing getting rotated to the top can produce a day where several calls land within minutes of each other and a week where the phone barely rings. One line and one human cannot absorb a burst. That is what the extra concurrent line at ₹1,500 per 30 days exists for — you add it for the months you need it and drop it for the months you do not, because there is no plan to be locked into.
The follow-up work is real work that never gets done. Annual maintenance contracts expire on a date nobody is watching. Post-treatment check-in calls, which are often what stands between a review and a complaint, get skipped. Warranty re-treatment requests arrive by WhatsApp and sink down the chat list. None of this is difficult; all of it needs somebody whose hands are free.
If that description is more general than specific to you, two adjacent pages may fit better: I can't answer my phone while working and shop phone busy, losing customers.
Which India voice-AI vendors publish a rate a pest control operator can actually buy?
Every competitor figure below was read on that vendor's own page on 21 Jul 2026 and is recorded in our internal price ledger with the sentence and URL it came from. Nothing here comes from a search snippet, an AI summary or a rival's comparison table — each of those produced at least one false number when we tried them. Where a figure is our arithmetic rather than the vendor's claim, it says so.
| Vendor | Published entry point | Subscription required? | Per-minute figure, and the string attached to it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dvaarik | ₹2/min, no plan fee; ₹2,000/30 days if we supply the number | No — the only recurring commitment is the Care Plan, required for the first 3 months of a founding build and optional from month 4 | ₹2/min from the first minute, whole-minute billing. No minimum volume, no lock-in |
| Trikon | ₹5/min flat | No | ₹5/min, published as all-inclusive of platform, LLM, STT, TTS, recording and dashboard. Telephony/DID is billed separately by your own carrier — you bring your own. No setup fee. Verified 21 Jul 2026; they appear to have cut ₹6 → ₹5 recently, so re-check before buying |
| Botsense | ₹9/min Starter, ₹7/min Growth, ₹5/min Enterprise | No, on their AI-calling page | Published as per-minute with "No monthly commitment". Starter is capped at 1,000 min/month and is Hindi + English only; Growth is capped at 10,000 min/month. Their page states no GST treatment either way, and does not say whether billing rounds per second or per minute |
| Agni by Ravan.ai | ₹2,999/mo including 300 minutes | Yes | ₹8/min Starter overage, ₹6/min Growth, ₹4/min Scale. Their ₹2/min headline is published as the quote-only Enterprise volume rate at 10,000+ minutes, not a buyable entry rate. Telephony is passed through separately (~₹1.08/min outbound, ~₹0.71/min inbound). Prices exclude 18% GST |
| Aixclerate | ₹9,999/mo including 500 minutes | Yes | ₹7/min overage beyond the bundle. Our arithmetic, not their claim: ₹9,999 ÷ 500 = ₹20.00 an included minute, and ₹24,999 ÷ 2,000 = ₹12.50 on Business. Recording ₹0.20/min, extra number ₹699, extra concurrency ₹499 |
| MyOperator | ₹10,000/mo (SUV AI - Voice) including 2,000 minutes | Yes | No ₹/min rate is published anywhere on their site. Overage is published as ₹8 per conversation, not per minute, so a like-for-like minute comparison beyond the bundle cannot be computed from their figures. Add ₹20,000 one-time onboarding; all plans billed yearly; GST applicable |
| HuskyVoice.AI | ₹1,999/mo including 100 voice credits | Yes | Their ₹4/min is published strictly as "Enterprise volume pricing as low as ₹4/min" — an at-volume floor, never their entry rate. The entry tier's effective rate is not published. Their own inputs: ₹1,999 for 100 credits at 2 credits = 1 minute, which is 50 minutes. Do that division yourself; we are not presenting the result as their price |
| Scalify Labs | ₹15,000/mo plan, plus ₹15,000–₹40,000 one-time setup | Yes | Their ₹0.40/min headline carries their own disclaimer — "Rates are estimates based on publicly available information and direct conversations. Always get a formal quote" — covers Hindi + English only, and sits on top of the monthly plan, with voice minutes and telecom "billed separately based on actual consumption". Minimum engagement is 10,000 minutes/month with a 3-month commitment |
| SquadStack | Not published | Not stated | No rupee figure of any kind appears on their site. Their own page says "pricing is shared after the discovery call", a one-time setup fee applies per use case with no amount stated, and the entry tier carries a 90-day commitment |
The same two volumes, priced across the board
This is the comparison that actually matters, because a headline rate tells you almost nothing until you multiply it by your own month. Both columns are billed minutes — each call already rounded up to the next whole minute. Dvaarik figures are month 4 onward, after the founding Care Plan becomes optional.
| Vendor | 460 billed minutes/month | 2,750 billed minutes/month |
|---|---|---|
| Dvaarik, number supplied by us | ₹2,920 (₹920 talk + ₹2,000 number) | ₹7,500 (₹5,500 talk + ₹2,000 number) |
| Dvaarik, if the ₹2,000 number charge does not apply | ₹920 | ₹5,500 |
| Trikon | ₹2,300, plus your own carrier's telephony | ₹13,750, plus your own carrier's telephony |
| Botsense Growth (₹7/min) | ₹3,220 | ₹19,250 |
| Agni Starter | ₹2,999 plan covers 300 min; 160 overage min at ₹8 = ₹1,280 → ₹4,279, plus pass-through telephony | Well beyond Starter — Scale is ₹12,999 for 2,500 min plus 250 at ₹4 = ₹13,999, plus pass-through telephony |
| Aixclerate | ₹9,999 (460 fits inside the 500-minute bundle) | ₹24,999 + 750 overage min at ₹7 = ₹30,249, before the ₹499 concurrency add-on |
| MyOperator SUV AI - Voice | ₹10,000/mo, billed yearly, plus ₹20,000 one-time onboarding | ₹10,000 covers 2,000 min; the remaining 750 minutes cannot be priced from published figures, because overage is per conversation |
Our own figures are the only ones on that table we can put a total against with no assumptions. The second Dvaarik row assumes you already have a working business number that can be pointed at us, so the ₹2,000 number-and-line charge does not apply — whether that is possible depends on your current carrier, so confirm it with us before you plan around ₹920.
Three vendors from the table above are missing here, and the reason is the same in each case: no entry rate a buyer could multiply out. SquadStack publishes no figure at all. HuskyVoice's entry-tier effective rate is not published. Scalify's ₹0.40/min is a self-disclaimed estimate that sits on top of a ₹15,000/mo plan with a 10,000 min/month minimum, so it cannot be multiplied by 460 and mean anything.
Read the 460-minute row honestly, because it does not flatter us. At that volume Trikon's ₹5/min platform charge comes to ₹2,300 against our ₹2,920 — they are ₹620 cheaper before their separately-billed carrier line, and they charge no setup fee at all. If we do not have to supply you a number, ours drops to ₹920 and the comparison flips. If you need us to hand you a number, Trikon may well be the better buy at low volume, and you should price both. Our claim is not that we are the lowest line on any table. It is the terms: ₹2/min from the very first minute, no subscription, no minimum volume, no lock-in.
The pattern worth noticing is in the subscription column: five of the eight competitors above require a monthly commitment before you have answered a single call. One of them publishes no price at all, and a second publishes plan prices but no per-minute rate you could compare against. For a business whose call volume swings hard between a bad monsoon week and a quiet month, a fixed monthly floor is the wrong shape. What the agent actually does on a pest control call
Described mechanically, with no performance claims attached. All names below are invented.
1. Answering and qualifying, at 9pm and on Sunday
The agent picks up every call, identifies your firm by name, and works through the qualification script you approve — pest type, property type, size, floor, city, whether it is a first treatment or a callback under warranty. It captures all of that into a lead sheet you can read in the morning.
> Caller: There are cockroaches all over my kitchen, can someone come tomorrow. > Agent: This is Kaveri Pest Control. I can arrange a cockroach treatment. Is this a flat or an independent house, and roughly how many bedrooms. > Caller: 2BHK flat, Miyapur. > Agent: I have tomorrow 11am or 3pm available in Miyapur. Which suits you.
2. Booking a technician slot, with the slot held
The agent offers real open slots and locks the one the customer takes before it can be offered to the next caller. In this trade a double-booked afternoon costs you a van, a technician, fuel and a customer, so slot-locking matters more than it sounds. See booking.
3. Quoting — inside limits you set
You decide what the agent is allowed to say about price. Most operators give it a standard range for routine work — general disinfection, cockroach gel treatment, a standard 2BHK — and require anything else to be quoted by a human after a site visit. Anti-termite treatment, heavy rodent infestations, commercial kitchens and warehouses are the usual candidates for "a person will call you back with a price". The agent will not improvise a number it was not given.
4. AMC renewal calls
This workflow works a list you already own rather than chasing new enquiries. You supply the renewal list from your own records. The agent calls within the hours you set, identifies your firm, states why it is calling, and logs an outcome:
| Outcome | What happens |
|---|---|
| Renewed | Booked, and a payment link sent if you want a deposit |
| Call back later | Retried per your rules |
| Not interested | Flagged and not called again by that campaign |
| No answer | Retried per your retry policy |
We only ever call your own customers and enquiries. No purchased lists, no scraped numbers, no cold databases, ever. Calling your own AMC customer about their own expiring contract is a different activity from cold-calling a bought list, but the regulatory position is yours to take advice on — start with is AI calling legal in India and then ask your own adviser. See outbound calls for how campaigns are structured.
5. Post-treatment follow-up and warranty callbacks
A scheduled check-in a week after treatment can catch a complaint before it becomes a review. If the customer says the problem persists and is inside the warranty period you have configured, the agent books the re-treatment visit directly rather than making them chase you.
6. WhatsApp enquiries and payment links
Enquiries that arrive as messages are handled as chat at ₹2 per 24-hour conversation window, on your own WhatsApp number. Meta's own message fees are billed by Meta to your account with zero markup from us — see WhatsApp Business API cost in India. The agent can send a payment link mid-conversation for a deposit or full payment, and we take no commission on what you collect. See payments.
One thing it does not do: it does not identify a pest from a photo. If a customer sends a picture of an insect and asks what it is, the agent says it cannot identify it and routes the message to you. We are not going to claim visual diagnosis we cannot stand behind.
Where the agent stops: chemicals, safety and health questions
This is the section that decides whether an AI receptionist belongs in this trade at all, so we are going to be exact about it.
Pest control is not a booking business with chemicals attached. It is a business that applies regulated substances inside people's homes, and the questions customers ask are frequently health questions wearing a scheduling disguise. "Can we stay in the house during the treatment." "Is it safe for my baby." "My wife is pregnant." "I have a cat." "Will it kill my aquarium fish." "My son is asthmatic." "What do I do, some of it got on my hand."
The agent answers none of those. Not a cautious version, not a hedged version, not a version approved by you. It stops, says plainly that it cannot advise on chemical safety, and gets a qualified human involved.
| What the agent does | What the agent never does |
|---|---|
| Recognises a chemical or health-safety question and stops the booking flow | Names the chemical, the active ingredient or the concentration |
| Says plainly that it cannot answer safety questions | Says whether a treatment is safe for a child, pet, pregnant woman or asthmatic |
| Warm-transfers to your supervisor or licensed operator if one is reachable | States a re-entry or ventilation period |
| Takes name, callback number and a verbatim note of the question | Advises what to do after skin contact, inhalation or ingestion |
| Alerts you immediately with the transcript | Suggests a home remedy or a substitute product |
| Reads back your written pre-treatment instructions verbatim, if you have supplied them and asked it to | Improvises, paraphrases or extends those instructions |
| Escalates an exposure or reaction call at once, without attempting to book anything | Reassures anybody that a reaction is nothing to worry about |
That last row is the one to read twice. If somebody rings after a treatment saying they feel unwell, the agent does not triage, does not reassure and does not schedule. It escalates.
On the regulatory framing, we are going to be careful rather than confident. Pest control operators in India work within a licensing regime for the storage and application of insecticides, and your obligations under it are real. We could not retrieve and read the current official text of that regime while writing this page, so we are not going to quote statute sections or licence conditions at you the way several vendor pages do. Take your own compliance advice. What we can commit to is the operational boundary in the table above, which we apply to every pest control agent we build, for every client, under every configuration. You choose the escalation number, the after-hours rule and the exact wording of the refusal. You do not get to choose whether the agent can give chemical or health advice, because it cannot.
If a vendor tells you their AI can answer safety questions for you, ask them who carries the liability when it gets one wrong.
Three worked monthly costs
All three firms are invented and sized to be realistic rather than flattering. Minutes are billed minutes, meaning each call is already rounded up to the next whole minute. All talk time is priced at the ₹2/min Bharat Standard rate.
Operator A — "Kaveri Pest Control", owner plus one technician, one city
150 inbound enquiries a month averaging 2 billed minutes, plus 80 AMC renewal and follow-up calls at 2 billed minutes. Total 460 billed minutes. Takes a number from us.
| Line | Founding months 1–3 | Month 4 onward |
|---|---|---|
| Talk time (460 × ₹2) | ₹920 | ₹920 |
| Number + 1 line, 30 days | ₹2,000 | ₹2,000 |
| Care Plan (founding rate) | ₹5,000 | ₹0 if you drop it |
| Monthly total | ₹7,920 | ₹2,920 |
| Blended cost per billed minute | ₹17.22 | ₹6.35 |
Look at that blended figure honestly. At 460 minutes the ₹2/min headline is not the story — the fixed ₹2,000 number charge dominates, and during the founding Care Plan months your blended rate is worse than several plan-based competitors work out to. Be sceptical of us at low volume, exactly as you should be of everyone else. If you already have a business number your customers know, ask us whether it can be pointed at us; if it can and the ₹2,000 charge falls away, this drops to ₹920 a month and the arithmetic changes completely.
Operator B — "Shakti Pest Solutions", six technicians, three vans
700 inbound enquiries at 2.5 billed minutes and 500 AMC renewal, follow-up and warranty callbacks at 2 billed minutes = 2,750 billed minutes. One extra concurrent line so two calls never collide during a busy week.
| Line | Founding months 1–3 | Month 4 onward |
|---|---|---|
| Talk time (2,750 × ₹2) | ₹5,500 | ₹5,500 |
| Number + 1 line | ₹2,000 | ₹2,000 |
| Extra concurrent line | ₹1,500 | ₹1,500 |
| Care Plan (founding rate) | ₹5,000 | ₹0 if dropped |
| Monthly total | ₹14,000 | ₹9,000 |
| Blended cost per billed minute | ₹5.09 | ₹3.27 |
Drop the extra concurrent line in a quiet month and the month-4 total is ₹7,500, a blend of ₹2.73 per billed minute. Add it back in a busy one. That flexibility is the actual product here — there is no plan to downgrade and no notice period to serve.
For reference at the same 2,750 minutes: Aixclerate Business is ₹24,999 plus 750 overage minutes at ₹7 = ₹30,249 before the ₹499 concurrency add-on; Trikon is ₹13,750 plus your own carrier's telephony; Botsense Growth is ₹19,250. The published rates behind those three sums were read on those vendors' own pages on 21 Jul 2026; the monthly totals themselves are our arithmetic.
Operator C — "Prabha Hygiene", 40 branches across four states, franchise model
Central call handling, heavy simultaneous volume, an existing field-service management system that dispatches technicians and holds the job history, and a procurement requirement for an uptime SLA.
We would decline this, or take a single branch as a pilot. The reasons are in the next section and they are not marketing modesty.
Run your own numbers with the missed call calculator.
Should you just hire someone to answer the phone instead?
Possibly. It depends on which of the two failures is costing you more, and they are different failures.
We are deliberately not putting a salary figure in this section. We could not verify current published salary data for office coordinators at Indian pest control firms while writing this page, and a made-up number is worse than no number. You already know what a competent person costs in your city; use your own figure in the comparison below.
| A person answering the phone | An AI receptionist | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost | Your local salary, plus statutory costs, training and cover | ₹2,920/mo at 460 billed minutes with a number from us, or ₹920 if the number charge does not apply, month 4 onward |
| Hours covered | Office hours, minus breaks, leave and sick days | 24/7, including Sundays and festival days |
| Simultaneous calls | One | One per concurrent line, at ₹1,500 per extra line per 30 days |
| The 9pm bed bug call | Voicemail | Answered and booked |
| Judgement on an unusual job | A person who has been in the trade can tell a routine 2BHK from a problem site | None. It follows the script and escalates |
| Handling an upset customer mid-complaint | Far better | Worse. It routes rather than de-escalates |
| Chasing the AMC renewal list every month | Rarely happens, because something urgent always comes first | Genuinely good at this, and it does not get bored |
| Talking to the technicians and juggling the day's route | Yes, and this is often the real job | No |
The honest conclusion is not "replace your office person." If you have someone good who knows the trade, the AI is a second pair of hands for the hours and the volumes they cannot cover — nights, Sundays, the third simultaneous caller, and the renewal list. If you have nobody and the phone rings out to a technician who cannot pick up, that is the case where an agent changes something material about your week.
A related read if you are weighing this decision: should I hire a receptionist or use AI.
When you should pick someone else
Four situations where a competitor or a human genuinely serves a pest control business better than we do. The rest of this page is only credible if this section is honest.
1. You already run field-service management software
This is our clearest gap. If your technicians are dispatched from a job-management system that holds the route, the job card, the chemical log and the customer history, a vendor that writes bookings natively into that system will give you a tighter workflow than we will. We book into a calendar with slot-locking and confirm on WhatsApp. That suits an operator running on a diary, a WhatsApp group and a spreadsheet. It suits you badly if somebody would have to retype our bookings into your dispatch system every morning — that is creating work, not removing it. Ask us at contact whether your specific system can be bridged; sometimes it can, often the honest answer is no.
2. You are a franchise or multi-state operation needing real concurrency and an SLA
Our default is one number and one concurrent line, with extra lines at ₹1,500 per 30 days. That scales to a handful of lines, not to a central contact centre. If you need guaranteed uptime, a support rota, escalation tiers and a contract with penalties, buy from a company that has those things. We are one engineer, and the next point explains why that matters.
3. You need to see proof it worked at a comparable firm
We have no pest control case study and no results figures, because founding seats are still open and we have a hard rule against publishing proof we do not have. Several pages you will find on this topic carry percentages — calls captured, bookings increased, no-shows reduced — with no named firm, no period and no method attached. We are not going to match those. If your decision requires evidence from a comparable Indian operator, we cannot give it to you today. The only thing we can offer instead is that you can call the demo agent yourself and judge the thing directly rather than judge a screenshot. That is a genuine disadvantage and you should weigh it as one. Try it from the pilot page.
4. You want one round monthly number and no arithmetic
A fixed ₹9,999 or ₹10,000 a month is easier to approve and easier to forecast than prepaid credits with a ₹10,000 first load, a number recharge, an optional Care Plan and a variable minute count. Our model comes out lower on total cost at both volumes priced above — the tables show where — but it loses on simplicity. If you want one predictable line item in the books and no monthly variance, a flat plan is a defensible choice even at a higher effective rate. Predictability is worth something real.
And a fifth, briefly: if you need a number handed to you and your volume is genuinely low, price Trikon's ₹5/min against our ₹2,920 as shown earlier. At 460 minutes with a number from us they may cost you less. We would rather tell you that than have you find it out afterwards.
Questions to ask any AI receptionist vendor
Take this list to us and to everyone else quoting you. The answers separate the vendors faster than the demos do.
- What is your per-minute rate in rupees, published on a page I can open right now. If the answer is "book a demo", note that they wrote a pricing page without a price on it.
- Is that rate buyable at my volume, or is it your enterprise floor. Several published Indian "from ₹X" rates sit on quote-only tiers at 10,000+ minutes a month. Ask which tier the number lives on.
- Is billing per second or per whole minute. Ours is whole minutes, and we say so — a 40-second call bills one minute. If your enquiry calls are short, that rounding is a real cost and you should price it.
- What do I pay in month one before a single call is answered. Setup, plan fee, number, minimum load, onboarding, GST.
- Is telephony included in the per-minute rate, or billed separately by my own carrier. This one line moves the total more than the headline rate does.
- What does the agent say when a customer asks whether the chemical is safe for a baby, a pet or a pregnant woman. Ask for the literal script. Ours refuses and escalates, under every configuration.
- Can it quote a price, and who decides the limits. A vendor whose agent improvises quotes for anti-termite work is selling you a liability.
- How many calls can it answer at once, what does each extra line cost, and can I add and remove lines month to month. Bursty trades need this and fixed plans rarely allow it.
- Will it call numbers I did not give you. The only acceptable answer is no.
- Where do WhatsApp message fees land — on your invoice with a markup, or on my own Meta account. Ours go to your Meta account at zero markup.
- Is there a minimum monthly volume, a notice period, or an expiry on credits. Ours: no minimum, no lock-in, credits never expire.
- Every statistic on your website — which client, over what period, measured how. If it cannot be sourced, discount the whole page, including ours.

With Dvaarik, voice calls are from ₹2 per billed minute on Bharat Standard, which covers the 22 scheduled Indian languages and English, with no monthly subscription and no minimum volume. Add ₹2,000 per 30 days if we supply the phone number. A two-technician operator running about 460 billed minutes a month, on a number from us, pays roughly ₹2,920 monthly once the founding Care Plan period ends. The ₹40,000 one-time build is currently free for our 10 founding clients, in return for keeping the Care Plan at the ₹5,000/mo founding rate for the first three months and giving us an honest testimonial plus a short case study after go-live. Minimum first credit load is ₹10,000, which is billed ₹11,800 including 18% GST; top-ups start at ₹500 and credits never expire.
Can the AI quote a price for cockroach or termite treatment over the phone?
Only within limits you set. Most operators let the agent quote a standard range for routine work such as a general disinfection or a cockroach gel treatment in a 2BHK flat, and require anything else to be quoted by a human after a site visit. Anti-termite treatment, heavy rodent infestations, commercial kitchens and warehouses are the usual candidates for a callback rather than a phone quote. The agent will not improvise a figure it was not given — if a job falls outside your rules it captures the details and tells the customer a person will call back with a price.
Will it call my AMC customers for renewals?
Yes, and this is often the workflow operators want first, because it works a list you already own rather than chasing new enquiries. You supply the renewal list from your own records; the agent calls within the hours you set, identifies your firm by name, states why it is calling, and logs the outcome as renewed, call back later, not interested or no answer. It can send a payment link during the call if you want a deposit. We only ever call your own customers and enquiries — never purchased, scraped or cold lists. The regulatory position on outbound calling is yours to take advice on, and you should.
What happens if a customer asks whether the chemical is safe for a baby or a pregnant woman?
The agent stops. It does not answer chemical or health-safety questions in any form — not the active ingredient, not the concentration, not the re-entry period, not whether it is safe for a child, a pet, an asthmatic or an aquarium, and not what to do after skin contact or inhalation. It says plainly that it cannot advise on that, warm-transfers to your supervisor or licensed operator if one is reachable, takes a callback number and a verbatim note of the question, and alerts you immediately with the transcript. If somebody rings after a treatment saying they feel unwell, it escalates without attempting to triage, reassure or book anything. This boundary is not configurable — you choose the escalation number and the wording of the refusal, not whether the refusal happens.
Can it book the technician's slot and stop double-bookings?
Yes. The agent offers real open slots from the calendar you connect and locks the slot the customer takes before it can be offered to the next caller. In this trade a double-booked afternoon costs a van, a technician, fuel and a customer, so the lock matters. What it does not do is write into field-service or job-dispatch software — our booking is calendar-based with WhatsApp confirmations. If your technicians are dispatched from a job-management system your staff work inside all day, a vendor with native integration into that system will suit you better and you should choose them.
Is it cheaper than hiring someone to answer calls in the office?
We are not going to claim it is, because we could not verify current published salary data for office coordinators at Indian pest control firms while writing this page, and we do not publish unsourced numbers. Here is our side of the comparison so you can put your own local salary figure against it: ₹2,920 a month at 460 billed minutes with a number from us, or ₹920 if the ₹2,000 number charge does not apply, from month 4 onward. The more useful point is that they are poor substitutes and good complements: a person is better with an upset customer mid-complaint and at juggling the day's route, while the agent covers the 9pm call, the third simultaneous caller in a busy week, and the AMC renewal list that never gets worked.
Does it work if my customers call in Telugu, Hindi or Marathi?
Yes. The agent handles all 22 scheduled Indian languages plus code-mixed Hinglish, Tenglish and Tanglish, switching mid-sentence rather than asking the caller to press a key to choose a language. All of those sit on the ₹2/min Bharat Standard rate; a Global voice for a non-Indian language is ₹4–5/min. Removing the language keypad matters because it removes a step the caller has to get right before anyone helps them. Some callers will still ask for a person straight away, and the agent hands over without arguing.
