Telugu AI Receptionist Cost India: ₹2/min

If your customers call you in Telugu, an AI receptionist can answer them in Telugu at ₹2 per billed minute — the same rate we charge for English, Hindi, Tamil or Kannada, because Telugu is one of the 22 scheduled Indian languages on our base tier and carries no language surcharge. This page gives the full money in rupees, explains how Telugu is actually spoken on a business line (గారు, అండి, Tenglish, Telangana versus coastal forms), names what genuinely trips speech systems up in Telugu, works one month of costs for a Vijayawada plots desk, and says plainly when a Telugu AI receptionist is not worth buying.

Telugu is Dvaarik's home market. The business is registered in Paloncha, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Telangana, and the person who builds every agent lives and works in a Telugu-speaking district. So here is the answer without a preamble: if your customers ring you in Telugu, we can build you an AI receptionist that answers them in Telugu at ₹2 per billed minute, which is exactly what we charge for English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada or Marathi. There is no regional-language premium, no separate Telugu plan, no subscription. Telugu sits on the same base Bharat Standard rate as every one of the 22 scheduled Indian languages, and that price is permanent rather than a founding-period discount. The rest of this page is the detail a Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Warangal or Guntur business owner would want before spending anything: the full cost stack in rupees, how Telugu callers actually talk when they want a rate or a date, what makes fast spoken Telugu hard for a speech system, one worked month of arithmetic, and the situations where you should not buy this at all.

What a Telugu-speaking AI receptionist actually costs

Every number on one screen, so you can decide before you read further.

  • Voice: ₹2 per billed minute. Same for Telugu as for English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada or Marathi. Telugu is one of the 22 scheduled Indian languages on our base Bharat Standard rate and there is no language surcharge. Billing is simple whole-minute billing: a call that runs 2 minutes 10 seconds bills as 3 minutes.
  • Chat: ₹2 per conversation, not per message — a 24-hour window of back-and-forth on WhatsApp or the website widget is one conversation.
  • Phone number: ₹2,000 per 30 days, and only if we supply the number. If you already have a business number you want answered, that line is yours and there is nothing to pay us for it.
  • Custom build: ₹40,000 one-time, currently free for our 10 founding clients. The trade is stated plainly, never in fine print: the build is free in return for the Care Plan for the first three months at the founding rate, plus an honest testimonial and a short case study after go-live.
  • Care Plan: list ₹12,000/month, founding rate ₹5,000/month. Required for the first three months, optional from month four. It covers monitoring, tuning the agent's Telugu and its answers as you learn what callers ask, campaign setup help, a monthly report, and priority WhatsApp support from the founder.
  • Credits: minimum first load ₹10,000, top-ups from ₹500 afterwards, and credits never expire. One balance pays for voice, chat, the number and the Care Plan.
  • GST: all of the above is quoted exclusive of GST. 18% is added when you load credits, so a ₹10,000 load is billed ₹11,800 — ₹10,000 usable plus ₹1,800 GST. There is no separate platform fee.
  • WhatsApp message charges are billed by Meta to your own account, with zero markup from us.

The full rate card, including the higher rates you would only need for non-Indian languages or a higher-fidelity studio voice, is on our pricing page.

Telugu on a business call: గారు, అండి, and the words nobody translates

A Telugu business call has a shape, and getting it wrong is obvious to a native ear within two seconds.

It opens with నమస్కారం — and on a shop or clinic line it is almost always నమస్కారం అండి, because the *అండి* suffix is what makes a sentence polite in spoken Telugu. A caller with a name attached becomes గారు: Ramesh is Ramesh గారు, and an agent that drops the గారు sounds like it is talking down to a customer. Second person is మీరు, never నువ్వు, no matter how young the caller sounds. Callers themselves will freely use *సార్* and *మేడమ్*, often in the same sentence as pure Telugu.

Then there is the register problem, which is specific to Telugu and catches badly built systems. Telugu has a bookish written register (గ్రాంథికం) and the spoken register people actually use (వ్యావహారికం). A text-to-speech voice fed formal written Telugu produces something that sounds like a news bulletin — grammatically immaculate, and completely wrong for a jewellery counter. Real spoken lines are short: చెప్పండి, సరే, అలాగే అండి, ఒక్క నిమిషం, ఉందా?, ఎంత అవుతుంది?

And then Tenglish. Telugu speakers do not translate the working vocabulary of business, ever. *Rate, plot, booking, appointment, report, sample, advance, EMI, site visit, delivery, quotation, hall, batch, fees, hostel, stock, model, warranty* stay in English inside an otherwise Telugu sentence: ఆ ప్లాట్ రేటు ఎంత అండి? or రేపు ఒక అపాయింట్‌మెంట్ బుక్ చేయాలి. Numbers flip both ways — a caller may say "two lakhs fifty" in English and then రెండున్నర లక్షలు thirty seconds later, and *లక్ష* and *కోటి* stay Telugu even inside a fully English sentence. An agent that only handles clean Telugu, or only handles English, will fail most real calls. See how we handle mixed-language lines on our multilingual page.

Telangana, Andhra, Hyderabad: one language, three phone habits

"Telugu" on a phone line is not one thing, and the difference matters when you decide what to build.

Telangana — Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam, the Bhadradri belt. Verb endings shorten: వస్తున్న rather than వస్తున్నాను, ఏమైతది rather than ఏమవుతుంది, ఏందీ rather than ఏమిటి. Vocabulary carries centuries of Urdu and Dakhini contact — పైసలు for money rather than డబ్బులు, బరాబర్ for correct, నక్కో for no or don't want. Hyderabad adds a complication a Telugu-only build will not survive: it is a genuinely multilingual city, where Hindi and Dakhini are everyday phone languages alongside Telugu and a caller may switch mid-call. Do not assume a Hyderabad line will be Telugu-only. Set the same number to take Telugu, Hindi and English, at the same ₹2/min.

Coastal Andhra — Vijayawada, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, the Godavari districts, Bhimavaram, Rajahmundry. Closer to what most people think of as standard spoken Telugu: ఏంటి, వెళ్తున్నాను, fuller verb forms. The Godavari districts have a distinctive lilt and their own turns of phrase. Visakhapatnam lines mix in more English, and businesses there also field callers from outside the state.

Rayalaseema — Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa, Tirupati, Chittoor. Its own vowel colouring and, near the Karnataka and Tamil Nadu borders, everyday contact with Kannada and Tamil speakers, so a Tirupati or Chittoor line can reasonably be expected to receive callers who start in another language.

None of this is exotic to a Telugu ear. It is exotic to a speech model trained mostly on broadcast Telugu. Which is the next section.

What genuinely makes Telugu hard for speech systems

Being honest about this is more useful than claiming Telugu is solved. Here is what actually goes wrong, and what we do about it.

Agglutination. Telugu packs a whole clause into one word. చేయించుకోవాలనుకుంటున్నాను is causative plus reflexive plus obligation plus intention plus progressive, in a single breath. A system that leans on word boundaries to guess meaning has very few boundaries to work with, and it tends to lose the tail of the word — which is exactly where the intention lives.

Sandhi and speed. Telugu is vowel-final and spoken quickly, so words run into each other. ఇంకా అమ్ముడు పోలేదా comes off a real caller's mouth as a single slurred run. Transcripts break at the joins.

Fine contrasts that carry meaning. ల versus ళ, న versus ణ, ద versus ధ. These distinctions do real work in names and place names, and a narrowband phone line strips out much of the higher-frequency detail that separates them — which is why a name that is unmistakable in the room can be ambiguous on the call.

Mid-sentence code switches. A caller drops an English noun into a Telugu clause and back out again. The system has to change phonology mid-utterance without losing the thread of the sentence.

Place and person names. Site visits and home collections are the killer case. Locality and village names across Telangana and Andhra are long, unfamiliar to a general model, and often unique to a district. A system that guesses is worse than one that admits it did not catch the name.

The line itself. A jewellery counter with three conversations going, a function hall with a generator running, an open-plot site with wind on the mic, a godown with a forklift.

What we do about it: the build exists to load your actual vocabulary — your localities, ventures, test names, batch names, model numbers — so the agent is not guessing from general Telugu. For anything it must get exactly right, it reads the value back to the caller and confirms, and it sends the detail to WhatsApp as text so a wrong letter cannot survive to your lead sheet. We do not claim it is perfect. We claim you can hear it yourself in Telugu before you spend anything.

The trades that keep phones ringing in Telangana and Andhra

The businesses that lose the most to unanswered calls here are not the ones with a website form. They are the ones where the phone is the whole funnel.

Open plots and real estate. Few trades in the two states live on the phone the way this one does. Callers ask గజం ఎంత?, whether the venture is approved, whether the road is laid, how far from the ORR or the highway, and whether they can see it on Sunday. Ad enquiries from Facebook and Instagram arrive in bursts, and the person enquiring is usually contacting several sellers in the same sitting — which is the strongest case for speed-to-lead calling, where the enquiry gets a call back in about 60 seconds. More detail on our real estate page.

Diagnostics labs and clinics. Timings, whether home collection covers the caller's area, when the report will come, what the preparation instruction is for a test. High volume, repetitive, and often out of hours. See clinics.

Jewellery. Today's rate, making charges, exchange terms, whether an order is ready. Shop lines are noisy and the caller is usually in a hurry.

Coaching and IIT-JEE or NEET institutes. Admission season is a wall of calls: fee structure, hostel availability, when the long-term and repeater batches start, whether there is a demo class. Miss the call and the parent rings the institute down the road. See coaching institutes.

Function halls. Is the hall free on the 22nd, what is the capacity, what advance is needed, is catering included. Almost every enquiry is a date-availability question, which is precisely what a booking agent is for.

Wholesale and trading. Rate per quintal or per bag, whether stock is in, delivery timing, credit terms — placed by regular buyers who will not leave a voicemail. See wholesale traders.

One month in rupees: a Vijayawada open-plots desk

Invented example, built to show the arithmetic — not a real client and not a claim about results.

A plots venture near Vijayawada runs Facebook and Instagram ads. In this example, enquiries land all day and most heavily after 8 pm, when the one person who answers the phone has gone home. They take our founding-client terms and we supply the number.

Line itemMonth 1
Custom build (list ₹40,000)₹0 — free for our 10 founding clients
Credits loaded₹10,000 usable (billed ₹11,800 with 18% GST)
Phone number, 30 days−₹2,000
Care Plan, founding rate−₹5,000
Left for calls and chats₹3,000

What ₹3,000 buys at ₹2/min: 1,500 billed voice minutes, or 1,500 chat conversations at ₹2 each, or any mix. A month for this invented desk might be 400 answered calls averaging 3 billed minutes (₹2,400) plus 250 WhatsApp conversations (₹500) — ₹2,900 of the ₹3,000, with the balance carried forward because credits never expire.

From month four the Care Plan becomes optional, so the standing cost drops:

Line itemMonth 4 onward
Phone number, 30 days₹2,000
Care Plan (optional from month 4, founding ₹5,000 rate held for six months)₹0 or ₹5,000
Usage at ₹2/min voice, ₹2/chatonly what you use

Two things to hold on to. First, at zero balance everything pauses gracefully — there is no surprise bill at the end of a month. Second, the comparison that matters is not against another vendor's rate card, it is against the enquiries currently going unanswered after 8 pm. The missed-call calculator does that sum with your own numbers, and our pricing index sets our terms against what the Indian market publishes.

What the agent does on a Telugu call, turn by turn

Two invented calls, written the way Telugu callers actually speak. Neither is a transcript of a real client, and the rates in them are made up for the illustration.

Invented example 1 — open plots, evening call, Vijayawada

Three things happened there. The agent used *అండి* and then *గారు* the moment it had a name. It answered the rate question first, because that is what the caller asked. And it moved the one detail that must be exact — the location — onto WhatsApp text rather than trusting a voice line.

Invented example 2 — diagnostics, missed call at 9:40 pm, Warangal

Note the caller's వస్తది — a Telangana form — sitting next to the English word *report*. That is one utterance with two languages and a regional verb ending in it, which is the normal case here, not the edge case.

What the agent does not do: give medical, legal or financial advice. It gives your timings, your rates, your availability, and it books. Anything that needs judgement goes to you, with the context already written down. More on the mechanics in how it works and the voice agent page.

Built in Telangana — what that means and what it does not

Dvaarik is registered in Paloncha, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Telangana, and serves businesses across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and the rest of India. Rohith Sriramula builds every agent personally. It is a home-based operation: there is no office you can visit, no team, no floor of people, and we will not pretend otherwise. You can read the whole story on our about page.

What that honestly gives you on a Telugu build. The person tuning your agent works from the region rather than from a distance, so a Warangal caller and a Bhimavaram caller do not get filed under one undifferentiated "Telugu", *గజం* is treated as the unit an open-plot buyer actually thinks in, a Hyderabad line is built on the assumption that Hindi callers will ring it, and dropping *గారు* is treated as the rudeness a caller hears rather than a cosmetic detail. You are also welcome to brief us in Telugu — a voice note in Telugu describing what your callers ask is a perfectly good input to the build.

What it does not give you, and I would rather say this than have you discover it. Being registered in Telangana does not by itself make speech recognition better; that comes from tuning against your actual vocabulary and from testing. We are not "the best at Telugu" and there is no honest way to make that claim — we support all 22 scheduled Indian languages at the same ₹2/min, and Telugu is one of them. We have no local office to walk into. And we are early enough that the founding client programme exists precisely because we want the first ten builds to be ones we can point to.

When a Telugu AI receptionist is not worth it

Some of these will cost us the enquiry. They are still true.

Your call volume is genuinely small. If you get three or four calls a day and you answer all of them, the arithmetic does not work. ₹2,000 for the number plus the Care Plan is real money against a problem you do not have. Run the missed-call calculator honestly first.

Someone already answers every call, reliably, including Sundays and after 9 pm. Then the gap the agent fills is already closed.

Your calls are long consultative negotiations. A forty-minute conversation about title, layout approval and payment structure is a human conversation. The useful build there is narrower: the agent takes the enquiry, qualifies it, books the site visit, and hands you a caller who is already warm. Buying it to replace the negotiation itself will disappoint you.

You need advice given, not information. Anything that is medical, legal or financial advice is out of scope. The agent states timings, prices, availability and preparation instructions that you supply. It does not diagnose, opine or recommend.

Almost all your enquiries already come as WhatsApp text. Then start with chat at ₹2 per conversation and skip the ₹2,000 number entirely until voice actually matters.

You cannot supply the answers. The build stalls without your rates, timings, batch dates and policies. An agent with no facts is worse than a phone that rings out, because it sounds confident.

You want cold calls to a purchased list. We decline that work. Outbound goes only to your own leads and enquiries, calling hours respected, agent identifying the business — the legal position is covered in is AI calling legal in India.

The first ₹10,000 load plus ₹5,000 Care Plan is a stretch this quarter. Then wait. The ₹2/min rate is permanent, not a countdown.

Test it in Telugu, and what to ask any vendor

Do not take a Telugu claim on trust, including ours. Our own agent answers live, and you should attack it before you spend anything.

Message or call the demo on WhatsApp at +91 79956 76588, or use the web demo at app.dvaarik.com/dvaarik-ai, and do this: speak only Telugu for a full minute; then switch to Tenglish mid-sentence the way you actually would (ఆ price ఎంత అండి?); then use a Telangana form like ఏమైతది or వస్తది; then interrupt it halfway through an answer, which is what real callers do; then give it a locality name from your district and see whether it repeats it back or bluffs. If it fails, you have learned something for ₹0.

Then ask any vendor, us included, these questions:

  1. Is Telugu priced the same as English and Hindi, or is there a regional-language surcharge?
  2. Whole-minute or per-second billing, and what is the minimum charged duration?
  3. Can I hear the demo in Telugu right now, or is the demo English-only?
  4. Does it stay in Telugu when the caller drops English words in, and does it come back?
  5. What happens when it mishears a village name — does it confirm, or does it guess?
  6. Who tunes it after go-live, how fast, and at what cost?
  7. Is the phone number mine, and can it answer on the number already printed on my board?
  8. What is my total month-one outgo including GST, in one figure?

More of our answers are on the FAQ, the language comparison is on Hindi and Telugu together, and the wider India price picture is in AI calling agent price India 2026.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Telugu AI receptionist cost in India?

₹2 per billed minute for voice and ₹2 per conversation for chat. If we supply the phone number, add ₹2,000 per 30 days. The one-time custom build is ₹40,000 and is currently free for our 10 founding clients, in return for the Care Plan at the founding rate of ₹5,000/month for the first three months and an honest testimonial plus a short case study after go-live. Minimum first credit load is ₹10,000. All prices exclude GST; 18% is added when you load credits, so a ₹10,000 load is billed ₹11,800.

Is Telugu charged more than English or Hindi?

No. Telugu is one of the 22 scheduled Indian languages on our base Bharat Standard rate, and that whole set is ₹2/min. There is no regional-language surcharge, no Telugu add-on and no separate Telugu plan. The higher rates on our card exist for non-Indian language coverage and for a higher-fidelity studio voice, not for Telugu itself. ₹2/min is the permanent base rate rather than a founding-period discount, so it does not expire when the founding programme closes.

Can it handle Tenglish — Telugu with English words mixed in?

That is the normal case, not the exception, and it is what the agent is built for. Real callers say things like ఆ ప్లాట్ రేటు ఎంత అండి or రేపు ఒక అపాయింట్‌మెంట్ బుక్ చేయాలి, with rate, plot, booking and appointment staying in English inside a Telugu sentence. Numbers switch both ways in the same call. Rather than take our word for it, message the demo on WhatsApp at +91 79956 76588 and deliberately switch mid-sentence to see how it holds.

Will it understand Telangana Telugu as well as coastal Andhra Telugu?

Those are genuinely different on the phone. Telangana speech shortens verb endings — వస్తున్న, ఏమైతది, ఏందీ — and carries Dakhini-influenced vocabulary such as పైసలు, బరాబర్ and నక్కో. Coastal Andhra and the Godavari districts use fuller forms and their own turns of phrase, and Rayalaseema has its own colouring. We tune the agent against the way your own callers speak during the build, and we keep tuning it under the Care Plan as you see real transcripts. Test it with your district's speech before you commit.

Can one number handle Telugu, Hindi and English callers?

Yes, and on a Hyderabad line you should plan for exactly that. Hyderabad is a genuinely multilingual city — Hindi and Dakhini are everyday phone languages there alongside Telugu, and a caller may switch mid-call. One number can take Telugu, Hindi and English at the same ₹2/min, with no per-language charge and no separate number for each language. Details are on our multilingual page.

Can it answer on my existing Hyderabad or Vijayawada business number?

Yes. If the number is already printed on your board, your ads and your visiting card, you keep it and there is nothing to pay us for the number — the ₹2,000 per 30 days applies only when we supply a number. Depending on your provider, calls can be forwarded to the agent, or the agent can pick up only when your line is busy or unanswered, so a human still gets first refusal on every call.

How exactly is a minute billed?

Simple whole-minute billing. A call of 2 minutes 10 seconds bills as 3 minutes at ₹2 per minute, so ₹6. We do not bill per second and never claim to. There is no committed call volume and no subscription underneath the per-minute rate, so a quiet month simply costs less. The one standing monthly item is the Care Plan, which is required for the first three months at the founding rate of ₹5,000/month and optional from month four. Credits are one balance covering voice, chat, the number recharge and the Care Plan, and they never expire.

What does month one cost in total, including GST?

For a founding client where we supply the number: the build is ₹0, and you load ₹10,000 of credits, billed ₹11,800 with 18% GST. From that ₹10,000, month one debits ₹2,000 for the number and ₹5,000 for the Care Plan, leaving about ₹3,000 for actual calls and chats — roughly 1,500 billed voice minutes, or 1,500 chat conversations, or a mix. So ₹11,800 out of your bank in month one, everything included, with no separate platform fee.

Can it call my leads back in Telugu?

Yes. When an enquiry comes in from a Facebook or Instagram ad, a form or a missed call, the agent can call that person back in about 60 seconds and speak Telugu, which matters most for open plots, admissions and function-hall dates where the enquirer is contacting several businesses at once. Two limits we hold to: outbound goes only to your own leads and enquiries, never a purchased list, and calling hours are respected with the agent identifying your business at the start.

How do I hear it speaking Telugu before I decide anything?

Message or call our own agent on WhatsApp at +91 79956 76588, or use the live demo at app.dvaarik.com/dvaarik-ai, and speak Telugu to it. Push it: mix English in mid-sentence, use a Telangana verb ending, interrupt it while it is answering, and give it a locality name from your district to see whether it confirms or guesses. It costs nothing, and it is a better basis for a decision than any claim on this page.

A Telugu AI receptionist costs ₹2 per billed minute, which is what English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Marathi cost, because Telugu is one of the 22 scheduled Indian languages on our base rate and we do not charge extra for any of them. Chat is ₹2 per conversation. A number, if we supply it, is ₹2,000 per 30 days. The ₹40,000 build is free for our 10 founding clients in return for the Care Plan at ₹5,000/month for the first three months and an honest testimonial afterwards. First credit load is ₹10,000, prices are ex-GST with 18% added at the point of loading credits, and credits never expire. What decides whether it is worth buying is not the rate card. It is whether Telugu enquiries are currently reaching you at 9 pm on a Sunday, and what one lost plot enquiry or one lost admission is worth. If you are not sure, call the demo and shout at it in Telugu first.

Tell us your problem on WhatsApp at +91 93923 98750 — in Telugu if that is easier. You get a plan and a price within a day, and if a Telugu AI receptionist is the wrong buy for your call volume, we will say so.

Multilingual AI Receptionist India

“Multilingual” on most AI receptionist homepages means “supports Spanish and French.” For Indian businesses, that's useless. What you actually need is: Hindi + Telugu + Tamil + code-mixed Hinglish. Here's how to tell if a tool really supports them.

Tamil AI Receptionist India Cost: ₹2/min

A Tamil-speaking AI voice agent from Dvaarik costs ₹2 per billed minute — the same rate as English or Hindi, because Tamil is one of the 22 scheduled Indian languages covered by our base Bharat Standard tier and carries no language surcharge. Add ₹2,000 per 30 days if we supply the phone number, and the one-time ₹40,000 build is free for our 10 founding clients in return for the Care Plan at ₹5,000/mo for the first three months and an honest testimonial after go-live.
