WhatsApp Chatbot
A WhatsApp chatbot is an automated assistant that replies to messages on a business's WhatsApp number. It can answer questions, share catalogs, book appointments, and collect payments — 24/7, without a person typing each reply.
In depth
A WhatsApp chatbot runs on the official WhatsApp Business API and handles incoming chats on your business number automatically. Simple versions are keyword or menu bots ('Reply 1 for menu'); advanced versions are AI chatbots that understand free-form questions and complete tasks. In India, WhatsApp is often the primary channel, so the important buying questions are: does it use YOUR own WhatsApp number with the green tick; does it coexist with the owner's WhatsApp app so a human can take over any chat; does it reply in the customer's language including Hinglish and Tenglish; and how are message costs billed — WhatsApp conversation charges are set by Meta, so a trustworthy provider passes those through to your own Meta account with no markup rather than reselling messages. A WhatsApp chatbot is text-only by nature; pairing it with a voice agent that also answers phone calls and calls leads back is what turns it from a support tool into a full front desk.
Real example
A boutique's WhatsApp chatbot answers 'Do you have lehengas under 15k?' in Hinglish, shares three options, checks trial-slot availability, books Saturday 4 PM, and sends a ₹500 deposit UPI link — all before the owner is even awake.

WhatsApp Business API
The WhatsApp Business API (WABA) is Meta's official programmatic interface that lets businesses send and receive WhatsApp messages at scale. It supports templates, chatbots, and two-way conversations — unlike the free WhatsApp Business app which is for small-volume manual replies.
Speed to Lead
Speed to lead is the time between a lead arriving (for example, someone filling your Meta or Google ad form) and your business making first contact. Leads contacted within the first minute convert dramatically better than leads contacted hours later.
Lead Qualification
Lead qualification is the process of asking an enquiring customer a short set of questions — budget, location, timeline, requirement — to judge how ready they are to buy, so the business spends its time on the leads most likely to convert.
